I just got back from our company ski trip to Highone Resort in Gangwon-do. The last time I skiied was at Whistler, all the way back in 2002, so I was a bit nervous. Having to ditch work for two full days in the middle of the busiest time period wasn't helping me get more excited about skiing either. Once I got to the resort though, I started to get more excited, and by the time we were on the lift with skiis, I was really enjoying the familiar ride through snowy hills. For the rest of the two days, I had a great time skiing, drinking coffee on the mountain top, and partying with other Googlers at night. Gangwon-do has been suffering a severe drought, which meant bare hills and not much water to shower with, but it snowed a lot overnight and made the second day of skiing super fun (and less guilty about showering). I'd love to try out Tahoe at some point :)
